How this guide treats the data you send us

Published Updated

Effective from 12 October 2026. This policy covers the information guide you are reading. It does not cover the HugoBets casino and sportsbook, which is a separate service with its own privacy policy.

Who decides what happens to my data, and is it HugoBets?

The editorial team behind this guide is the controller for the data described here. HugoBets is not involved. We do not open accounts, take deposits or handle withdrawals, so the data you give to the casino when you register, verify your identity or play is held by the operator under its own rules and not by us.

What information do we receive?

Very little. The guide has no registration, no login and no payment form, so we do not hold passwords, card numbers or identity documents. The information we receive is what you choose to send to [email protected]: your email address, the content of your message and anything you add, such as the wording of a bonus condition you saw. Like any website, the service that hosts these pages processes technical data needed to deliver them, for example the address a request came from and the page asked for.

Why do we use it, and on what basis?

We use an email to answer you, to check whether a page needs correcting and to keep a record of the correction we made. Our basis under UK data protection law is legitimate interests: running an accurate guide and replying to the people who help us keep it accurate. If you write to us about a legal matter or ask us to act on your data, we also use your message to meet our obligations. We do not use your address for marketing purposes.

Do you use cookies?

The guide is written so that reading it does not depend on cookies. Your browser may still store technical files when it loads a page, and you can control or delete them in its settings. If we introduce any measurement tool that sets cookies, this policy will be updated first and will say what is collected and why.

Who else sees my data?

Your email passes through the email provider and the hosting provider that run the contact address and the site. They act on our instructions and only to deliver the service. We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass your message to HugoBets unless you ask us to; if you do, we tell you exactly what we are sending. Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, in which case we rely on the safeguards recognised by UK law.

How long is it kept?

An email is kept for as long as it takes to deal with your question and to keep a reasonable record of any correction it led to. Once a record has stopped being useful, we delete it. We do not keep a long-term list of readers.

How is it protected?

Access to the mailbox is limited to the editorial team, and messages are kept inside the email service rather than copied into other tools. No online system is perfectly secure, so please do not send identity documents, card details or your HugoBets password by email. We will never ask for them.

What rights do I have?

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict its use, object to our use of it, and, where it applies, ask for it in a portable form. Write to [email protected] and say what you need. If you are unhappy with our reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Do I have to give my name?

No. A working email address is enough for us to reply, and a name is optional. Tell us only what the question needs, and if you quote a bonus condition, quote the wording rather than attaching screenshots of your account.

What about children?

The guide is written for adults. The minimum gambling age in Great Britain is 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If a young person has written to us, tell us and we will delete that message.

How does this differ from what HugoBets keeps?

The operator keeps different data for different periods. KYC data is retained for 5 years after the relationship with the operator ends, self-exclusion records are retained indefinitely, and support is reached through live chat or an email link on its pages. Those periods belong to HugoBets, not to this guide, and questions about them go to HugoBets customer support.

What if this policy changes?

When the way we handle data changes, we update this page and change the effective date at the top. If you write to us again, check the date: it tells you which version applied when you wrote.

How do I reach the editorial team about privacy?

Email [email protected] and mention Privacy in the subject line.
